Stony Loop Coop Cabin & Campground nestled among tall pine trees in the Minnesota Northwoods

Isabella, Minnesota

When was the last time you heard nothing but the wind in the pines?

A quiet stretch of Northwoods land where the cabin waits, the fire pit is stocked, and the only schedule is the one written by the sunset.

Stony Loop Coop Cabin & Campground is a small, unpretentious retreat on the edge of the Superior National Forest — a place to slow down, sleep deeply, and let the Northwoods do what they do best.

The Cabin

A place to put the world down.

The cabin sits back from the road, framed by mature trees and a stretch of gravel drive that feels like leaving everything behind. Inside, the atmosphere is simple and warm — natural wood, soft light, and enough space for a small group or a quiet solo escape.

There are no televisions here. The entertainment is the crackle of the wood stove, the view through the windows, and the kind of silence that only comes when you're deep enough in the woods to forget the clock.

The Grounds

Land that asks for nothing.

The property stretches across a mix of pine stand, open meadow, and rocky outcrops — each corner offering a different view, a different shade of quiet.

Dense pine forest surrounding the campground

Pine Stands

Tall, mature pines provide natural shade and privacy for each campsite and the cabin clearing.

Open meadow area at the campground with wildflowers

Open Meadows

Sun-drenched clearings for stargazing, morning coffee, or simply sitting with nothing to do.

Rocky outcrop with views of the surrounding forest

Rocky Outcrops

Ancient granite formations dot the property — perfect for a contemplative walk or a place to watch the sky change.

The Experience

What you'll do here is up to you — which is the whole point.

Some come to hike. Some to fish. Some just to sit on the porch and watch the light move across the trees. There's no itinerary. There's no rush. There's just the land and the time to notice it.

01

Hike the Northwoods Trails

Miles of unmaintained forest paths wind through the Superior National Forest just beyond the property line.

02

Camp Under Open Sky

Designated campsites with fire rings, surrounded by pines and far from the nearest streetlight.

03

Fish the Nearby Waters

Minnesota's lake country is close by — grab a rod and spend the morning on the water.

04

Do Absolutely Nothing

The best thing about this place is that it doesn't ask you to be productive. Rest is the activity.
